The design, color, and composition of Rock N’ Roll album art and concert posters is raw and pugilistic: bold, hard-hitting, and iconic. The performances and postures–the actions of the time–are also seminal; setting the stage for artists throughout the decades. The sequence runs through Sun Records-inspired graphic design with matched motion and visuals from across the timeline. A holy roller jumping from the pulpit, then Elvis on tip-toe, and Michael Jackson’s interpretation of the same. Glimpses of the civil unrest, juxtaposed with action shots of the artists attacking their guitars, mics, and the dance floor. The credits leave no question that this was the biggest, most daring, most spirited stage in the history of rock and roll.
